40 People turned up to pay their respects to the hundreds of thousands of Greyhounds that have been exploited, abused & killed over the last 87 years
Greyhound Remembrance at Chester 21st July 2013
Thanks to Lush Chester CAGED northwest were able to take the 2013 greyhound remembrance to the busy streets of Chester. The people of Chester showed genuine support and we would like to thank everyone that helped make this special day happen.
On the 24th July 1926 Belle Vue held the very first greyhound race, since then multiple tracks shot up throughout the UK & Ireland. Over the last 8 decades hundreds of thousands of Greyhounds have been exploited, abused & killed. This is why every year all the Greyhound protection groups come together on the closest weekend to the 24th July & hold a remembrance for the voiceless. 2013 will mark 87 years of suffering for the greyhounds, that is why SDBV will be holding their yearly remembrance outside Belle Vue on the 20th and we will be bring the remembrance to the city of Chester on the 21st.
