Jessica's Story
Jessica is presently in the care of Birmingham Greyhound Protection after she was collected from a dog pound.
Jessica's condition was very poor, she weighed approximately 19 kg and her ideal weight is approximately 30kg, she also has numerous wounds on her body and severe damage to her tail. Her racing name was Swiftlark Mia although she was registered to race by the Greyhound Board, there is no history of her ever being raced on any licenced track. She is one of a litter of 6 who was bred by a man called Lee Dangerfield. Mr Dangerfield is connected to Romford track, but out of a litter of 6 pups, only 2 are visible as registered to race on the greyhound database.
This is another example of how greyhounds are being bred with no traceability from cradle to grave by the breeder or the racing industry itself.
Jessica is now in good hands & making a full recovery.
SADLY JESSICA WAS PUT TO SLEEP FOLLOWING A DIAGNOSIS OF CANCER IN HER TUMMY, SHE WAS ONLY 3 YEARS OLD, REST IN PIECE ANGEL, 3rd FEBRUARY 2015.
