SOPHIE'S STORY

Below is a photograph of my late Greyhound Sophie (Angel Hound now) At the age of 3 Sophie's leg was torn off while being exercised behind a 4x4 vehicle, which was being driven by a greyhound trainer. Sophie fell and was dragged behind the vehicle for some distance before the trainer stopped to cut the rope, he then drove off leaving poor Sophie injured and traumatised. There were some nice people in the vehicle behind who witnessed the incident, they stopped to help Sophie and took her to a veterinary surgery, they paid all the vet bills and also reported everything to the police. Sophie had to have her leg amputated due to the injuries, in addition to this she suffered a head and neck trauma, scarring from all the skin grafts and mental trauma. The people couldn't adopt her as they already had animals in their care, therefore they opted to give her to a rescue centre, where I later adopted Sophie. The greyhound trainer was never punished for the severe abuse he caused to Sophie.

Me and Sophie had 8 lovely years together.
